Fall 2023 Dahlgren Dialogue: Solidarity with the Church and Jesuits in Nicaragua: Responding to Repression and Denial of Religious Freedom
The recording of the Fall 2023 Dahlgren Dialogue is now online. The Catholic Church in Nicaragua is suffering. A bishop has been imprisoned, the Jesuit university closed, religious women expelled, charities closed, and seminaries dissolved. Jesuits have stood with the people of Nicaragua in countless ways, offering education, fighting injustice, working for democracy, respecting human rights, and seeking peace.

Kicking Off the 2021 Ignatian Year
On the 20th of May, 1521, Ignatius of Loyola was struck in the leg by a cannonball in the Battle of Pamplona—an event that would forever change his life. This year, as we celebrate that 500-year anniversary of Ignatius’s ‘cannonball moment,’ we are called to reflect on the purpose of our own lives, how we make and find meaning with and among others, and how we—like Ignatius—might live more fully into God’s dream for each of us.
