A Life Wound By Mercy

A previously recorded lecture by Interim Vice President for Mission and Ministry Rev. Howard Gray S.J., Ph.D (November 16, 2016)

Rev. Howard Gray, S.J., Ph.D, reflects on a particularly fundamental Ignatian theme of finding God in all things, at the conclusion of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Early in his pontificate Pope Francis likened the church to a field hospital where the world’s wounded would be welcomed and the healthy are missioned to healing service of their sisters and brothers. This image of a field hospital fits our fractured reality. At the conclusion of this Jubilee Year we remain a wounded people. The challenge remains for all of us, the wounded and the healthy. Fr. Gray is known nationally and internationally for his scholarship and teaching on Ignatian spirituality. He is currently serving as Interim Vice President for Mission and Ministry at Georgetown University.
