Rev. Mark Bosco, S.J., Ph.D., Vice President for Mission and Ministry
In addition to serving as Vice President for Mission and Ministry, Rev. Mark Bosco, S.J., Ph.D. also holds an appointment as a Professorial Lecturer in the Department of English. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Fr. Bosco comes to Georgetown from Loyola University Chicago, where he was a tenured faculty member in both the Department of Theology and the Department of English. He also served as Director of The Joan and Bill Hank Center for the Catholic Intellectual Heritage (CCIH) at Loyola Chicago. Prior to joining the Loyola Chicago University community in 2003, Fr. Bosco taught at the University of San Francisco and the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. He obtained his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Theology and Literature from the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley and his M.Div. from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley.
Mr. Aaron Johnson, Managing Director
Aaron Johnson, M.Div., a 2012 graduate of the McDonough School of Business (MBA), joined the Office of Mission and Ministry in 2007. Mr. Johnson oversees campus ministry activities on the main campus and directs the business functions of the department.
Ms. Michelle Siemietkowski, Director of Graduate and Undergraduate Student Formation
Michelle Siemietkowski, M.A. Pastoral Studies, a graduate of the College (B.A., 1992); and the School of Continuing Studies (M.A. Liberal Studies, 1998) joined the Office of Mission and Ministry in 2008. Ms. Siemietkowski oversees campus ministry at the Medical Center, the Law Center, and in the residence halls on the main campus. In addition, Ms. Siemietkowski serves as a Chaplain-in-Residence for undergraduate students who live off-campus in theGeorgetown neighborhood.
Rev. Jerry Hayes S.J., Director of Ignatian Programs
Fr. Jerry Hayes, S.J., is the Director of Ignatian Programs in the Office of Mission and Ministry. He was missioned to Georgetown University after completing his Tertianship in 2016.
After studying Communications and Marketing at the California State University-Sacramento, Fr. Hayes entered the Society of Jesus in 1994.
He earned a B.A. in philosophy at Gonzaga University in Spokane,
Washington and went on to teach theology and serve as an assistant
campus minister at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. Fr. Hayes continued his theological studies at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, receiving an M.Div. in 2007 and was ordained a Catholic
priest that same year. Upon ordination, he returned to Loyola High School in Los Angeles to serve as the Director of Campus Ministry.
In 2012, Fr. Hayes returned to Sacramento and served the Jesuit High School community as minister to the Jesuit Community and Parochial Vicar of St. Ignatius Parish.
Today, Fr. Hayes divides his time on campus providing spiritual direction to the Georgetown community and leading retreats that engage participants in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
Ms. Kate Cullen, Assistant Director for Administration
Kate Cullen, joined the Office of Mission and Ministry in 2010. Ms. Cullen manages the operations of the Vice President’s Office and the production of programs including Jesuit Heritage Week, Ignatian Tradition Seminar, and ecumenical Advent and Lent devotional projects.
