Share The Journey with Refugees and Migrants: Pope Francis' Campaign

On September 27 Georgetown University sponsored an event to mark the
launch of Pope Francis's Share the Journey Campaign on Refugees and
Migrants.  At the event,  Archbishop Silvano Tomasi expanded upon Pope
Francis’ call to action, providing insight on how
communities—including Georgetown’s campus community—can most
effectively mobilize around the campaign. He focused on how religious
actors and groups can play stronger positive roles in relation to
refugee movement and migration, addressing the difficulties of
integrating new arrivals into our society.  Other speakers include
Prof. Elizabeth Ferris, Fr.Ludovic Lado, SJ, Georgetown student Habon
Ali, and Fr. David Hollenbach, SJ.

This event was co-sponsored by Jesuit Refugee Service-USA; Catholic
Relief Services; Georgetown’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and
World Affairs; the Institute for the Study of International Migration;
the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life; the Center
for Social Justice Research, Teaching and Service; the Office of
Mission and Ministry; and the Office of the Vice President for Global
Engagement.
